Access to every single national park is free in 2017, in celebration of Canada’s 150th birthday!
The free Discovery Passes are available online now, or at Parks Canada places and through Parks Canada partners as of January 1st, 2017. The Discovery Pass gives you access to all national parks, national historic sites, and national marine conservation areas
People are indeed excited, and the traffic increase to the Parks Canada website is causing it to crash occasionally. But they want to remind Canadians that free Discovery Passes will be available to order every day until the end of 2017.
