Never have we yearned for our youth more than the moment we found out about this amazing free opportunity for teenage girls.
Ice-covered volcanoes, Alaskan glaciers, and glacial ocean kayaking are a few of the potential adventures that await via Inspiring Girls Expeditions.
Providing a unique opportunity for girls to travel the world with peers and role models, the mission of this program aims to “bring out natural curiosity, inspire interest in science, connect the arts and sciences, free girls from gender roles, provide a less competitive atmosphere and encourage trust in physical abilities.”
How to Get Involved
Opportunities to visit either Alaska, the Cascade volcanoes, Switzerland or other icy places are open to girls aged 16-17 around the world:
“Inspiring Girls Expeditions leads unique, FREE, wilderness science education programs for high school girls. Each summer a team of 8-9 teenage girls and 3 instructors spend 12 days exploring and learning about glaciers and the alpine landscape or fjord in which the program is based. They conduct scientific field studies with professional glaciologists, ecologists, mountain guides, and artists.”
