The West Coast Railway Heritage Park is an iconic part of Squamish. You may have been there to browse handcrafted wares at the Refresh Market or to celebrate a good friend’s wedding. Maybe you’ve been there with the whole family to watch Thomas or ride the mini rail.
Unfortunately, our friends at The West Coast Railway Heritage Park have not been open since the holidays due to inclement weather conditions. They are kindly asking for donations to help reopen.
We are not the only ones stunned by the record-breaking temperatures and snowfall this winter. The weather has also affected the West Coast Railway Heritage Park in the worst way possible.
Of the 25 years in Squamish, The West Coast Railway Heritage Park has never seen a closure. This year is a pipe breaker kind of year, with furnaces failing, tracks freezing, and turntables inoperative. Along with many structural damages, workers have also been laid off.
After being closed for so long, the Railway Heritage Park does not foresee an opening until March of this year. The Park has not been able to collect any revenue since the shutdown over the holidays, making it near impossible to get back up and running. It is facing significant costs to repair much of the damage and reopen.

You can attend the Beach Party fundraising event on February 25th! Guaranteed to be a fun evening with sand dance floor, beach volleyball, massive buffet, and breezy cocktails.
Let’s help our friends get back on track!
